Train to be a teacher at
the Oundle Hub

“The course has been very, very good… I had high hopes because of the fantastic school setting and its supportive staff. Nothing seems too challenging or out of reach.”

How it works

The National Mathematics and Physics SCITT’s Oundle Hub is led by Oundle School, a co-educational independent school in Oundle, Northamptonshire, 15 miles southwest of Peterborough.

Oundle School is the third-largest independent boarding and day school in England

Trainees are based here for one day a week for their training.  Our excellent training team and lovely facilities at Oundle School will ensure you get the very best subject-specific teacher training. This is an opportunity for trainees to come together with other Mathematics and Physics trainees, share ideas and experiences and learn from our outstanding Hub Subject Leads.

Full-time trainees will spend the other four days in the week at one of our growing network of fantastic placement schools, where they will build their experience and learn from some great teaching mentors, so they can enjoy a flying start to their teaching careers.

Come along to one of our events and meet our team and learn about what a great place it is to train to be a Mathematics or Physics teacher.

Oundle teacher training

Introducing the Oundle Hub

The course begins with a National Residential Induction, after this trainees attend weekly training focused on Mathematics or Physics teaching led by subject specialists at Oundle School.

There are three National Training Days where the whole national cohort comes together. Trainees spend most of their time in their two placement schools which are complementary, giving a varied experience of schools. Our placement schools span part of the East Midlands and into East Anglia, allowing us to place trainees in schools close to their homes.

SCITT OFSTED

“Leaders have designed a well structured, coherent and ambitious ITE curriculum … Trainees value how well subject leaders and mentors within their regional hub know them as individuals.”
