Train to be a teacher at
the North East London Hub

“I highly recommend the National Maths and Physics SCITT. The training is
exceptional, and the in-person weekly sessions are specifically focused on maths,
providing a targeted and enriching learning experience.”

How it works

The National Mathematics and Physics SCITT’s North East London hub is led by Brentwood School, one of the UK’s leading independent school for boys and girls aged 3-18 with a history spanning almost 500 years.

With a commitment to academic excellence and a strong emphasis on holistic development, Brentwood School caters to a diverse student body. The school’s values of ‘virtue, learning and manners’ foster a supportive learning environment, encouraging individual growth and promoting a sense of community among its pupils. With nearly 2,000 pupils on roll, Brentwood School is a prominent institution in the region, dedicated to providing quality education. Trainees will be based here for their hub training days providing the opportunity for trainees to come together with other mathematics trainees, share ideas and experiences and learn from our outstanding hub subject leads.
Trainees will spend most of their time at one of our of placement schools, where they will build their experience and learn from some great teaching mentors, so they can enjoy a flying start to their teaching careers.

Train to Teach at the
North London Hub

“The highlights of my training have been, seeing the positive impact my teaching has
had on pupils, working with a range of supportive teachers, and meeting other
trainees at the training days who are now my friends.”

“Both Hub and central training days have been excellent, with targeted learning,
strong pastoral support, and highly practical content that I can apply immediately in
the classroom.”

“I really like that the programme places you in a school from day one, providing real
classroom experience right from the start. It was also important to me to train in local
schools, and the National Mathematics and Physics SCITT was the only programme
that made that possible.”
