Train to be a teacher at
the North London Hub

“I like the fact that the programme immerses you in a school environment from day one, providing real classroom experience right from the start.”

How it works

The National Mathematics and Physics SCITT’s North London hub is led by Habs Girls School.

Habs Girls and Habs Boys are two single sex schools, on one co-educational campus.

Our purpose at Habs is to ensure that all our students are
empowered to be able to make a profound impact in the world.

We are an academically ambitious and inspirational school, who values the importance of developing the whole child to create a sense of belonging.

Trainees will be based here for their hub training days providing the opportunity for trainees to come together with other mathematics trainees, share ideas and experiences and learn from our outstanding hub subject leads.

Trainees will spend most of their time at one of our of placement schools, where they will build their experience and learn from some great teaching mentors, so they can enjoy a flying start to their teaching careers.

Subject specific teacher training for mathematics

Our courses are led by expert teachers in maths so you will cover the subject you want to teach rather than a generalist syllabus.

Train to Teach at the
North London Hub

“After several years of working as an accountant, I knew I wanted a career change
but struggled to find something that inspired me. When I started looking into
teaching, it immediately felt like the right path. I was drawn to the National
Mathematics and Physics SCITT because they are a specialist maths teacher
training provider.”

“The highlights of my training have been, seeing the positive impact my teaching has
had on pupils, working with a range of supportive teachers, and meeting other
trainees at the training days who are now my friends.”

“The support and encouragement I’ve received from my mentors has been amazing.
They have been supportive throughout, offering regular feedback to help me
improve.”
